We were hiking in Utah when we came upon a meadow full of showy milkweed in bloom. The pink flowers were so beautiful but what a pleasant surprise to see the many tiger swallowtail butterflies landing on the flowers. Milkweed is a favorite host plant for these butterflies as they lay their eggs. The leaves will be eaten by the caterpillar as it grows.
